Alexander "Bruce" Mackinnon Obituary

Alexander "Bruce" Mackinnon, 87, passed away on July 28, 2025, at the Amberwoods Nursing Home of Farmington. Bruce was born in Hartford, CT on July 2, 1938 to the late Alden & Madeline (Sorensen) Mackinnon. Bruce grew up in Farmington and during his high school years, he and his family moved to West Hartford. After high school he enlisted in the National Guard. He was an avid collector of all Western memorabilia and a huge Western history buff. Besides his loving wife Diane, Bruce is survived by his son Steve (Mary) Mackinnnon and his step-daughters, Corine (Vinny) Juardo and Maryanne Trinidad. He also leaves behind his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his sister, Brenda Mackinnon. In addition to his parents, Bruce is predeceased by his first wife, Catherine "Kay" Tuomi Mackinnon. A Funeral Service will be held for Bruce on Monday evening, August 4, 2025, beginning at 7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville. Relatives and friends may attend a visitation prior to the service on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM. Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10 AM at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.
